The Choir

We are a Norwich-based chamber choir of around 25 singers and winners of the 2011 BBC Radio Norfolk Choir of the Year.  We have recently celebrated our 20th anniversary and our members, some of whom joined the choir at its inauguration, range in age from their 20s to their 70s, and come from all around the county. We combine excellent sight-reading skills and a collective desire to perform to a high standard with a friendly atmosphere!

Our repertoire is extensive and varied, but we specialise in Renaissance and contemporary music.  We give around five concerts a year and also help to raise money for local charities. We have, to date, raised over £25,000. In November 2010 we raised over £450 for Save the Children to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Norwich branch. Find out more about our past concerts.

In December 2009 our Christmas concert raised over £700 for Nelson’s Journey, and over 2008 to 2012 four figure sums were raised each year for the Mancroft Advice Project. In 2006 and 2007 we gave two hugely popular Christmas concerts in aid of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital’s neonatal unit.

We’re always happy to give concerts for charities or local organisations. Get in touch if you’d like to know more.

We’re also keen to hear from good singers of all parts. If you are a confident sight-reader, able to commit to Thursday evening rehearsals during term time (in the Golden Triangle area of Norwich) and would like to arrange an audition, please contact us.
